MemberThanks Obi-wan, what is the \K ? part of the string that will pull up the superscript 3?
Ken Clark
MemberI would think so if the string is looking for a number instead of a letter or two letters. Mean to say “string”.

MemberThanks fr the article and code. only problem is there is not a number in front of what I want to make superscript through this data sheet. It’s ft as in ft3 (superscript 3). Does it make a difference? I would think so if the thing is looking for a number instead of a letter or two letters.

MemberGood grief! I think I did it!!!. I took out the nested style and used the “New Line Style”. Paragraph looks like I want it to look.
On to GREP!

MemberI'm doing something wrong. It's not working. I have painting directions to format for a labels. They have helv bold cond. run in subheads at the beginning fo each paragraph. I separate the paragraphs with .05 after each. Some subheads have either no character at the end, a colon or a dash before turning into the regular lighter face. Sometimes there are words with a colon or 3 lines of bold text right in the middle of a paragraph.
So I bring in the clients text from a MSWord file and it's in say Times or helv narrow, whatever he typed it in. I already have 2 character styles set for helv bold cond and helv reg cond.
Now I've tried selecting the first run in bold subhead and create a new nested style. I name the style, use the drop menu to select the name of the style, select up or through (tried both), select up 8 words, and end nested style. It changes the entire paragraph to bold.
Then my nested style name appears in character style menu.
I know I'm not stupid but this is a challenge and I haven't even tried grappling with the grep styles yet.
What do I do to make formatting these label directions easier?

MemberSeen that! Wasn't sure what it was for. Many thanks. I'll give it a go.

Memberso if I use a invisible character like a hard or soft return it will serve as an “end character”? Is there a menu item called “LineStyle” as in Character Style or Paragraph style? What do you mean by pattern. Is that a GREP term? I haven't gotten in the grep styls yet. don't really get it yet.
Thanks you very much for your help.
