    Hi Kiley,

You can find stroke styles under the Stoke Panel flyout menu.

Unfortunately, there is not exactly what you’re looking ofr in InDesign. But I did find that by changing the stroke cap type from Butt cap to Projecting cap, that changes the height of the bars on the end. Perhaps that will be sufficient.

Do both end of the line need to be the same height? Are you looking to make the bars on the end shorter or taller than the default?

Perhaps you should consider using two different paths with different appearance. One path for the end caps and a second path for the stroke body. With the Magneto Paths plugin, they will stick together and act as a single object when you move or resize them. I wrote about this concept here: https://creativepro.com/beauty-stacked-strokes.php

And sadly, no this feature has not been updated in CC. But the Rorohiko plugin can sure helps in situations like this.

    Hi Kiley,
While you can’t adjust the percentage of the en cap, what you can do is adjust the percentage of the stroke width. Create a custom striped stroke style so that width of the stroke occupies NOT 100%, but the center third or so. When you apply the stroke at let’s say 1 pt, the bar will be the same size it would be at 1pt, but the stroke itself will be 30% or .3 pts. I’m not sure if that’s exactly what you were after, but maybe it will prove useful to you.

    Hi Emily,

For the question mark, you may want make out own custom icon using IndyFont Pro, and then set it up as an automatic bullet character.

Picture-heavy user manuals are what I do for a living. Ping me with your questions and I’ll see what I can do to help out. kelly – at – documentgeek.com

It really depends on if you want your text to all stay the same size. In that case, you’ll need to add additional pages. Start with layout adjustment, change the page size, and then tweak from there.

But if you just want them a smaller size, and all the content can stay the same on each page, just place the PDFs of the 8.5 x 11 files into the smaller 4.25 x 5.5 template.

    Try this: https://documentgeek.blogspot.com/2011/01/indesign-absolute-vs-relative-links.html

I haven’t tried it with the exact method that you describe (with linking to multiple subfolders), but I suspect that this will work.

Near the top of the dialog box, in the “List” dropdown menu, change “multi level list” to “Default.” I found that the two-level numbering as you need only works when the list is Default. Not sure why…

    That should fix it.

You might want to try custom numbered lists: https://creativepro.com/use…..bering.php

Did you simply update the PDF, or did you relink to new file? I've found that if I relink the PDF, and choose show import options, it will defual to placing page 1 on every page. So if I've got a multi-pafe PDF that I need to update, I just save over the old PDF and simply choose to update the links in the Links Panel.

I know you're trying to do this in InDesign, but there is a print to booklet feature in the Acrobat print dialog box. I had been imposing booklets manually for at least five years before I discovered that feature.

You could also try a stroke with a gradient applied to it. Use four stops: one at each end, and two in the middle, both at 50%. Then use a gradient rotation angle of 90 degrees.

    Hi Erick,

Have you considered using InDesign to make your bookmarks? It may make it easier for you later on when the content changes and reflows. Check this out: https://creativepro.com/use…..kmarks.php

    Good luck!

Thanks Mike, that fixed it. I was able to export as IDML, set the anchored objects to Custom, and then copy and paste those text frames back into my INDD file.

I am having a similar problem. I opened a CS4 file in CS5 and when I insert an anchored object, then change the options from Inline to Custom, the object simply disappears. But it's only happening in one of my files… So I can't pinpoint why it is happening.
