ParticipantI don’t understand what you’re after. What is “internal trace?” Can you sketch a picture of what you’re trying to accomplish, and it upload a link to your picture? Then we can help you in making it.
Kelly Vaughn
ParticipantThank you Kai! That was exactly what I needed today. Thanks for posting the script.

ParticipantIf you convert the GR code into a button, and add the same URL as the hyperlink, you can then use the QR code as a clickable button in the PDF.

ParticipantWhat if you tried exporting the table as a snippet, and then placing that into your second document?
Kelly Vaughn
ParticipantYou can do a manual override of the paragraph style. Go to the Paragraph panel flyout > Drop Caps and Nested Styles, and then add a nested style that applies a specific character style to the first four letters.
Kelly Vaughn
ParticipantOops, I meant a single column text frame that has the paragraphs set to split columns. That will give you more flexibility and you can have it right inside your existing text frame.
Kelly Vaughn
ParticipantIt won’t work in a table. But you can fake it. Try using a multi-column text frame with paragraph borders. If the content in your table flows onto more than one line, use Align to Baseline grad as part of your paragraph style, and then adjust the baseline grid and border offset so that the paragraph borders line up.

ParticipantYes it does. I use it almost every day in CC. But now it’s part of DTP Tools Cloud: https://www.dtptools.com/product.asp?id=dcid. I think it’s a subscription service, around $10/month. Worth every penny! I buy their Cloud just for this feature alone, but there are about a dozen other tools that come with it.

ParticipantDid you set up the anchored objects with a object style? If so, you can edit the object style to scoot the Y offset over just a bit. But if you didn’t set them up with an object style, it will be much trickier.

ParticipantYou’ll need to use the plugin from DTP Tools. “Annotations” works with book files and is much more robust than the new PDF comment import feature in InDesign. That plugin alone is worth the cost of the entire subscription, yet you’ll get at least a dozen or so other tools with your subscription.

ParticipantYes there is a workaround. After copying the book and related files to their new location, change the name of the older folder and then run a book-wide sync of some sort. Then change the folder name back. I wrote about it here: https://documentgeek.blogspot.com/2011/01/indesign-absolute-vs-relative-links.html
September 19, 2018 at 1:14 pm in reply to: Is there a quick way to generate pages without manually adding or editing them? #110478Kelly Vaughn
ParticipantI create technical manuals for a living. It sounds like what you need is conditional text. You can assign “Unconditional” to the text that goes invert manual, and apply a condition to text that needs to get included in certain manuals. You can toggle on and off the conditions., so you’ll only show the text that is pertinent to what you need. I would be happy to help you automate your process.
Thanks,
