I did everything from my pc. I am only testing with my iPad. I have Indesign CC for the PC. I used epubcheck and it validated perfectly.

I am going to borrow a mac to submit the iBook. I will keep plugging away.

    Thanks,

    Janis

I did use Liz Castro’s mini-guide for the read-along. I also read “Epub Straight to the Point.” I did convert the book into a fixed-layout ePub using Indesign CC and your course on Lynda.com. I had to apply Liz’s directions to the code. I put the media-overlay into the Css and the content.opf. I am at a loss because I uploaded the eBook sample to iBooks through Dropbox. I don’t have a Mac, just an iPad. The audio and the automatic page turner woek on every page. The highlighting isn’t working. The eBook validated perfectly.

I appreciate all the help I can get.

    Thanks,

    Janis

I have all of the words in the XHTML files and all the uadio in the smil files. The audio part does work. I put the media overlay code in the content.opf and the Css file. I do not have a Mac, only an ipad or I would have used Circularflo before.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,

I have no idea how to fix this error because I don’t know how to find the ops :”ERROR: epub9.epub: OPS/XHTML file OEBPS/j83643-Flower-Fairy_-epubBody-10.xhtml is missing.” I don’t know how to find the OPS file.

    Thanks,

    Hi Ken,

I uploaded the latest file to Dropbox. Here is the link.: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5t8zb6vpd77wkcs/ffepub6.zip?dl=0 The The span code was written by inDesign. They put it up during the conversion. Also, I don’t understand why it is telling me that files are missing when they are in the content opf and in the xhtml files and the smil files. I looked and looked for the errors comparing the bad lines with the validated lines and couldn’t see anything different between them. I am going to spend all day tomorrow trying to fix errors. I appreciate any help you can give me. This is driving me nuts. Good luck with the event.

    Thanks,

    Janis

I sent the link to Circulaflo in the Contact section. This is a client’s book so please don’t share.

Thanks so much for the help.

I went to your CircularFlo page. It looks fantastic, but at this time I don’t have a Mac. I only have an iPad and I am using InDesign on my pc.
I have the audio all tagged already, so I am going to have to code it myself. I will get a Mac as soon as I make enough money to buy one.
I have not done anything else but learn InDesign and how to do the audio for several months.

Thanks for the help. I have bookmarked your site,

    Thanks,

    Hi Ken,

The font is Archer Thin and it is True Type. I have plenty of fonts but I am having trouble replacing this one.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Hi Anne-Marie,

I tried to change the settings. It messed up the graphics. They are cut off. How do I do what you described and have the graphics look the
same? I only looked at the changes in indesign. This is driving me nuts.

Sorry to be such a pain,

    Janis.

It does that on the iPad because Apple wants the reader to keep their place in the book. There should be a visual table of contents on the bottom of the page if the reader wants to get to a different page if you already submitted the book to iBooks through iTunes.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi Ann-Marie,

Thanks for getting back to me. The video I am talking about is in your new course about exporting ePubs from inDesign cc.
It is at the end of the video about using Dropbox to upload the ePUB to iBooks. You show your highway iBook and
it looked just like my iBook. It did not fill the screen and there is gray above and below the pages.

Thanks for the information. I will try it tomorrow. The original print book is over-sized in a landscape orientation. It is a beautiful book.
What sppoked me was that it was perfect in Radium. I guess that has a different aspect ratio. Right now I am recording
the read along part of the book. I am marking each word. I hope I can figure out how to edit it in the book. I don’t
think I can do it with the interactive features of cc. Oh well, it is a learning experience, but you really made it easier
    with your courses.

    Thanks, I am very grateful,

    Janis
