MemberThen I would re-install Indesign. This is a very unusual behavior.
Gustavo Martinez
MemberIs this happening with one specific document? If so, I would export it to IDML, open it and try again.

MemberHave you tried starting Indesign using Run as Administrator (if you are on Windows)? I guess the last resource would be to uninstall/install ID CC (2014).

MemberAlan, it might be that as of ID CC some fonts were provided via Adobe Typekit. That would explain why the OP didn’t get Rosewood. I wonder if installing CS6 (which is part of the Creative Cloud subscription) would install Rosewood?
Gustavo Martinez
MemberI’m of the Creative Cloud era. So my first instinct was to refer you to Typekit where Rosewood is available to subscribers. But as other esteemed members have mentioned, Rosewood has been part of pre-Creative Cloud versions going back to CS3: https://blogs.adobe.com/typblography/fonts-installed-by-adobes-creative-suite. Now, I have Rosewood that was installed with CS6. So, I’m wondering why you didn’t get it when installing ID CC.

MemberIf you are not a Creative Cloud subscriber you’ll have to buy it from Adobe Typekit. Otherwise, you have access to it through your subscription.
Gustavo Martinez
MemberNo. You can use it as a regular font. It is listed for web/desktop availability. The only limitation (if you want to call it that way) is if you want to package your file, the font won’t package (Typekit fonts won’t package). So, if you send your .indd file to another party, he/she would have to access the font via Typekit through their Creative Cloud subscription. Other than that, you use it as you would use any other font.

MemberThis font is available from Typekit. From the font menu if you click Add Fonts from Typekit, you’ll find it.

MemberIt is Roswell? They are several Roswell out there (all paid). Which one do you have? It doesn’t look they come with Indesign. May be you had it in another computer. If it is ITC Roswell it is classified as condensed. You can look up fonts similar to Roswell and you might find some alternatives.

MemberThis has been a feature that’s been on the wish list for a while. To my knowledge it’s still not possible since text variables cannot wrap to a second line. There’s a plugin from In-tools that does it but is not free: https://in-tools.com/article/power-headers/power-headers-20-released/

MemberHave you tried exporting it as IDML and opening again? This sounds like a corrupted file. If you want to attach a sample file you need to use dropbox.com or similar and post the link here.

MemberMay I suggest TextStitch from Rorohiko. Just read carefully the instructions: https://www.rorohiko.com/wordpress/indesign-downloads/textstitch/

MemberI think you should stick to the fonts that Indesign doesn’t have problems with. Some free fonts are not well built and don’t render properly on Indesign as you have experienced. The same applies with epubs.
Gustavo Martinez
MemberYou need to select the text and apply the proper font. What fonts are you using? I found Gujarati Sangam MN works well (Gujarati MN doesn’t for some reason). Also enable Type/Paragraph/Adobe World Ready Paragraph Composer (from the flyout menu) for proper display. Let us know if this information helps you.

MemberDwayne, without giving away the actual macros you use can you give an idea of what you check? I had the worst experiences with word files created from PDFs. They are good candidates to crash Indesign!
