    Indeed,

I didn’t (and unfortunately don’t) had the time to check it out completely. I just adapted a grep we made some time ago for a similar problem (but with always the same sequence).
I hope the others can correct the problem more properly.
I think it’s best to run the grep first and then the styling.

Try these. I didn’t manage to do it in one grep for all, I had to use a grep for 3 names and one for 2 names.
    For 3 names:
    Change
    (\w+)( \w+ )(\w+)(?= \d+)
    replace
    $3, $1 $2
    For 2 names:
    Change
    (\w+ )(\w+)(?= \d+)
    Replace
    $2, $1

Did a test with a few names and it seems to work, but maybe someone can do it in one trick

Isn’t this a feature in Indesign CC? You cannot group them, but you can search for all “bold” fonts.

First, make sure that “all information” is checked in the preference panel, before importing.
Next, create a char style, named “superscript” (or whatever), and just fill in “superscript” (no font name, nothing, just superscript).
Import the text and before doing anything else, run the find and change (text tab) to replace everything in superscript (find field empty, but in the find box below check “superscript) with the char style “superscript” (replace field empty, but in the box below select the char style for the superscript). Afterwards you can apply any style you want, the superscripts will stay.

Create illustrations in Illustrator, import those in Indesign and add the rest of the job.

Go to the master page and insert (type menu) a special char (marker – current page number. Precede this A (if you use master A, it’ll show a A on the master page) by six 0. If you want one zero less from “10” onward, create a second master B and enter only 5 zero’s (plus the special char). Apply the B-master to the pages 10 till 99. Create a third master C with 4 zero’s for page 100 and apply it to the last page.

Did you try exporting to a pdf/x4 (supports transparency). The white box may suggest that the background isn’t transparent, but solid, but has the same colour as the background.

Importing data in excel requires a certain format (tab delimited, cvs ….). When you export a peace of text it will be imported in excel as one cell, unless you’re able to select what you want, and add some formatting excel understands. Automatically selecting text with a certain para style isn’t possible, I think.

@david. Thnkx. I’ll check them both out. Hope they work in CC.

Edit para style, go to indent and spacing and find at the right side “space after”.

No need for a grep, just search for ^p^p (in the text tab of the F&C box) and it will select only those carriage returns. Run it a few times if needed (if you have more than two returns following each other). The duplicates have to be replaced by what?

Did you check your preferences? Check in “edit menu – preferences – clipboard handling” Make sure it’s on “all information”.
When you “place” the text, select “show import options” and make sure the footnotes are selected.
