Member@AM: trust me, the FRIdNGE solution is amazing. We do the layout of legal docs in 2 languages in 2 “frames” and Michel helps us to speed up the process. As he said, just one click to align both languages (ex. 40 pages in 30 secs).

MemberI just would use the x4 settings from indesign (you can get then from gwg workgroup (or standard in latest CC). That way transparancy is conserved which should make thins easier.

Membersoft return => start at the line, but do not make a new paragraph => last line fully justified.
Create a second para style with no space an apply that one.July 24, 2017 at 7:06 am in reply to: Retaining font styles in CS5 when applying paragraph styles globally #96321Gert Verrept
MemberLeslie, sorry to say this, but I think it’s time to let go of PageMaker and restart from scratch in Indesign. I too had to make the switch for all of our publications, some were easy others not. It took us a lot of time, and some programming was required to get things done. The lack of “detailled find and changes” in PM were solved in Indesign, but this means indeed that “simple changes in PageMaker” are no longer working. You’ll see, once you get the Indesign file right, it will be a lot easier…

MemberIs in “basic attributes” in the “new object style” the “frame fitting options” actif? If not, click on it and select the preferred fitting option.

MemberAs far as I know, you can export to ODT and then import it into Indesign (formatting will not be good).

MemberTry the new gwg2015 settings and pdf/x4. The profile TAC220 can still be used.

Member@Obi-wan Kenobi: very interesting script, we make legal documents in 2 languages (dutch and French) and we have to keep both texts aligned. We work with two text frames per page. Can you tell me a bit more about this script? Maybe by mail? My adress gertverrept@gmail.com. thnks

MemberCould be a cache problem on the laptop. Close Indesign and look for the cache folder and rename it (so a new cache is created). Try opening the file again.

MemberWhich pdf version? rGB versus CMYK? If transparency is needed, make a pdf/x4.
