    Hi Jonh,

Did you ever get your ticket numbering project to work successfully? I have been using the CutStack “Numbering.jsx” script you referenced with much success and for a variety of multiple up projects. It sounds like to me you may be having a problem with how InDesign’s auto text flow feature. Typically, I place the linked text boxes on the master page as you do. However, I select the first text box on the document page to place my numbers. Depending on the size of your linked text boxes, pages should begin autoflowing like magic! :-)

Let me know if I can be of more assistance and if this information helped your particular situation.

    Hi Dwayne,

Thanks for your response. What I would like to do is rotate a PDF image from portrait (4.25″w X 5.5″h; 0 degrees) to landscape (5.5″w X 4.25″h; 270 degrees). So I am thinking this would be the image itself and not the box.

I too have need of a script that selects all pages and duplicates them after each page; instead of at the end of the document. Anyone create this script yet?

    Hi Jongware,

Yes, I was able to get your “possible (tricky)” GREP to do work after some minor changes. Here is the revised version for the first 10 Chapters:

    ((?&lt=CHAPTER \u\u\ur)|(?&lt=CHAPTER \u\u\u\ur)|(?&lt=CHAPTER \u\u\u\u\u\r))+.*r

Hopefully I got all of the escapes and parenthesis to appear.

Thanks Jongware. Perhaps my search can be redefined? What happens if I search for the next paragraph that follows a specific paragraph style? For example, locate the next paragraph after paragraph style called Chapter Title. Is there a GREP instruction for doing this?

Thanks Jongware for your prompt reply. Actually, I have a total of 40 paragraphs which are not numerals but spelled out (ONE, TWO, THREE, etc.). So, I want to skip over this information and apply the paragraph style to the next paragraph not the one which contains “CHAPTER ONE”.

Ultimately, I would like to accomplish this using a GREP style and not Find/Change if that is possible.

    Greg

    Hi,

FYI, I’ve seen a similar problem when working with columns. Is it possible that your word document is using columns or tables?

    Hi Jongware,

The only similiarity is that the GREP “.+” appears to select a complete paragraph. I wish to know if there is anyway to create a GREP that will select multiple paragraphs in relation to a specfic paragraph style. I will use my previous example, and add paragraph styles in brackets:

    [parastyle1]Name[parastyle1]
    [parastyle2]Spouse[parastyle2]
    [parastyle3]Address;City, State Zip;Phone[parastyle3]
    [parastyle4]Email[parastyle4]
    [parastyle1]Name[parastyle1]
    [parastyle3]Seasonal Address;City, Country[parastyle3]
    [parastyle1]Name[parastyle1]
    [parastyle1]Name[parastyle1]
    [parastyle2]Spouse[parastyle2]
    [parastyle3]Address;City, State Zip;Phone[parastyle3]

In the first entry, I want to select text that starts with [parastyle1] and the selections ends after [paprastyle4].
In the second entry, I want to select text that starts with [parastyle1] and the selections ends after [paprastyle3].
In the third entry, I want to select text that starts with [parastyle1] and the selections ends after [paprastyle1].
In the fourth entry, I want to select text that starts with [parastyle1] and the selections ends after [paprastyle3].

    Does that help?

    Hi Jongware,

Sorry perhaps providing an example will be more helpful. Below is a sample of enties:

    Name
    Spouse
    Address;City, State Zip;Phone
    Email
    Name
    Seasonal Address;City, Country
    Name
    Name
    Spouse
    Address;City, State Zip;Phone

I am putting together an Alumni Class Directory containing names, addresses, phone numbers and other information. There are over 700 etnries and each entry begins with a paragraph style called “Name”. The information that follows has a variety of paragraph styles assigned to them. I want to select text starting with the “Name” style including all subsequent text prior to the next “Name” style. Once selected I wish to use a new Paragraph style with Apply Next.

It is important to note, some entries will be incomplete and might only contain a Name.

Please let me know if this explanation is more clearly stated.

    Regards,
    Greg

    Jongware,

I need to do something similiar with GREP. What I'd like to do is select text between a specfic paragraph style. And it's important to use the Apply Next option. Can you tell me if this is possible?

    Thanks,
    Greg

Ok, I will try to find a copy of CS5.5. In the meantime, do you have a GREP or script you are willing to share?

Thanks for the reply Jongware. This is quite close to what I desire. The text is staying together and floating across page boundaries without inserting manual page breaks. The only problem I notice is that the style for my last line could be differet depending upon how much address information is included. For example, the last line could be an e-mail address, phone number or address line.

Since I know the first line will always be the name is there some way to use the “Keep with Next” feature so that it based off of the first line? Hope that makes sense. :)
