David BlatnerKeymasterIt's a common request, but as Eugene pointed out earlier, it's not possible. InDesign simply does not allow you to select two objects if they are on different spreads. Each spread acts completely independently of the other.

David BlatnerKeymasterYou can use absolute numbers, such as “+14” to indicate the “fourteenth page of the document,” no matter what section it's in. Or, if there's a section prefix specified, you could point to the proper page with that (such as Sec1:14).

David BlatnerKeymasterI am very wary of the idea of embedding fonts in epub documents. The main reason is that (as far as I know) almost every epub reader other than Adobe's own Digital Editions ignores them. Are you sure that your doc will be read only in Digital Editions?
That said, it does seem like a CSS problem. I would recommend creating your own CSS file and export the epub with “empty” style declarations. Then you can just fit your own CSS file in, instead of relying on the one ID makes.
This is going to be a major topic at the Print and ePublishing Conference in Seattle in May.

David BlatnerKeymasterNot sure exactly what the problem is, Gary, but plug-ins need to be installed inside the Plug-ins folder, which is inside the application folder (on windows, the Program Files folder, right?… I don't have windows running right now)
David BlatnerKeymasterI moved this to The Pub, as it's a more general topic.
I love Goudy. I love Meta. Honestly, I use Myriad Pro and Minion Pro the most, though.

David BlatnerKeymasterDo you see a red X in the bottom right corner of the frame? I wonder if the text is just getting overset? Try opening it with Edit > Edit in Story Editor to see if some is overset.

David BlatnerKeymasterThis is a great topic to get people shouting on all sides. ;)
The key phrase, though, is that you really want best quality images. For best quality, you should resample/resize in Photoshop to at least close to final size/resolution and apply sharpening there. Then save and import into InDesign.
If image quality is less important than efficiency, then I'd say just bring 'em in and export to PDF.
This makes no difference whether you're sending the INDD package or making a PDF.

David BlatnerKeymastersorry, I think I had a brain blip; indexmatic won't let you index by grep. However, you could use Find/Change to apply a character style (use a character style that does nothing, applies no formatting, perhaps) to all the text using GREP. Then indexmatic could find text tagged with those styles.
