David BlatnerKeymasterYes, you're probably noticing the flattener transparency “stitching.” If you zoom in/out on it in Acrobat, do the lines get bigger/smaller? If they're always either one pixel or they disappear, then they're almost assuredly “artifacts” (they're not really there; they just appear on screen).
David BlatnerKeymasterHere's a blog post on this:

Here's one more trick: You can command/ctrl-click-and-hold on the frame. Don't move it; just hold down the mouse button. That makes the highlight go away temporarily.

David BlatnerKeymasterI don't think so. All placed files are considered “pictures” and therefore rasterized. Frustrating.

David BlatnerKeymasterIndeed. When this person sits down and logs in, there must be something that is consistent from one time to the next. An account, a log-in, some files on the server, something. There is no way to give this person a fresh new account? But it sounds like it may be a system problem more than an InDesign problem.

David BlatnerKeymasterIf it is the same document over and over, then I would suggest exporting as INX or IDML, then closing the document, then opening the INX/IDML file and working with this new, clean version of the file.
David BlatnerKeymasterYou could apply a grep style that applies a “no break” character style, using this code: £d[ds]+

David BlatnerKeymasterThat is pretty strange. However, I have noticed that InDesign can be sensitive to things around it that are seemingly unrelated. I would say make a new account for him, but you said that they're recreated automatically? That's wild.
The only thing I can think of is that his files are corrupted somehow. Does this happen with brand new files? Or just files he has been working on?

David BlatnerKeymasterI'm not sure what you're trying to do. Has there been a “trial version” of ID Server in the past? The fact that you need the “keys” makes it sound as though you are trying to pirate the software. I would suggest contacting Adobe for information about IDserver:
