David BlatnerKeymasterIs this the problem?

David BlatnerKeymasterThat is odd. It should work. Check clipboard handling pane in Preferences to make sure Prefer PDF when Pasting is turned off? Make sure AICB is turned on in Illustrator's preferences?
Maybe rebuild preference files.
David BlatnerKeymasterUnderstandable to be distracted by the election results! Strange days are upon us!
Select page 3 in the Pages panel, then choose Numbering & Section Options from the pages panel menu and set it to page 1. Now you'll have two page 1s in the doc, so you can select the first page and change it to roman numerals or something.
David BlatnerKeymasterMartin, you can change most defaults by changing them when no document is open. If you mean the gutter between columns, then choose Edit > Margins & Columns.
David BlatnerKeymasterInstead of “apply next para” you might be able to use Nested Styles. Using a shift-return means it's all one big paragraph. So you could say “character style 1 up to the 1 soft return, character style 2 up to 1 soft return,” and so on. Yes?
David BlatnerKeymasterWacky! Perhaps all the objects have non-printing turned on in the Attributes panel? Or the layers are set to non-printing?
David BlatnerKeymasterSorry, should also have said: No, upgrading to newer acrobat or CS5 or whatever won't help. You just can't print to PDF anymore. It's incredibly unfortunate, and I wish Adobe and Apple could come up with a good workaround, but I'm not holding my breath.
David BlatnerKeymasterIt is most helpful if you have the PPD for Acrobat. Here's some details on what happened and how to do it:

David BlatnerKeymasterHm. Are you exporting the master pages, by some chance? Are you really using version 2.0? Or CS2? Either way, make sure you have gotten the newest free update available.

David BlatnerKeymasterThere is no automatic way to synch layer visibility, unfortunately. I'm sure a script could do it. I could see many different reasons why people would want to synch layers among all the files in a book.
David BlatnerKeymasterThat's great news! (that post was from the folks at movemen, the developers behind the inmath product). I look forward to getting details when they appear.
David BlatnerKeymasterI don't know of a script, but that is pretty easy to accomplish with the Ink Manager. Just turn on a checkbox and they all get changed. Yes?
Oh, but you're packaging, not printing or exporting…. hm… interesting. Yes, I can see how that would be helpful to have a script that just converts them all.
David BlatnerKeymasterDoes it happen at all rotations? Does it happen when you zoom in and out? All images, including TIFF and PSD and JPEG? Just trying to get a handle of what might be going on.
Text inside a bitmapped image will almost never look good when rotated, but it shouldn't look horrible…
