David BlatnerKeymasterRight: text wrap doesn't affect the line it is on. See this article: https://creativepro.com/wra…..object.php
David BlatnerKeymasterI know some people use AutoFit for this purpose: https://www.typefi.com/index.ph…..fi-autofit
Here is another option: https://www.indiscripts.com/cat…..s/InGutter
Does anyone know of others?

David BlatnerKeymasterNo, each page has to stand on its own… you would not be able to see the other pages behind the smaller page. You might be able to fake it with an object that looks like a page.
David BlatnerKeymasterFurry, it all depends on the width of the window. When the window gets less than 1000 px (if I recall), the widget becomes horizontal.
David BlatnerKeymasterGlad to help! If you enjoyed the Miami show, you'll love the conference next month in DC! (indesignsecretslive.com)
David BlatnerKeymasterAs much as I hate to say it… yeah, you're asking the impossible.
Well, actually, no… I'm sure a script or plug-in could do it. Not sure if power headers from in-tools.com can do that… might check with them (though they may be out this week).
A script wouldn't be too hard or expensive.
David BlatnerKeymasterExcellent question. There is one plug-in I know of:
David BlatnerKeymasterI don't know about plug-in or script, but I wonder if you can make that work easier with either text variables (see Type > Text Variables) or the Section Marker (https://creativepro.com/ind…..ts-006.php)
David BlatnerKeymasterCreeDo: Yes, no doubt that Michael Murphy's GREP course is good. If you want a shorter introduction to GREP, I would also humbly suggest my own movie there called “10 things you should know about grep and indesign”: https://www.lynda.com/tutorial/46812
David BlatnerKeymasterHosam also posted in the scripting forum, but I removed it, as the discussion began here. His post above was copied from an email thread with me, where I had asked him if he was looking to build a calendar.
I think the answer is that there is no easy off-the-shelf script for making an book-like agenda with 365 days, times, and so on.
Back in 1990 or 1991 a friend of mine wrote a custom QuarkXPress xtension for a guy who made calendars. He made hundreds of calendars for clients, and hired 3 people year round to update them. My friend's XTension pretty much did all that those three full-time people did and the client made a bundle of money.
Other than CalendarWizard, there must be some good private calendar scripts or plug-ins out there that someone is using. But I have not seen them available.
David BlatnerKeymasterYou make very good points, Theun. However, I'm a relativist so I think there are always multiple perspectives. :)
For example, some authors/developers have found that piracy is actually beneficial for them… they sell more/make more by having their work pirated by some people.
That said, I would never say that piracy is always good. There are many situations where it's clearly evil. Your example of someone pirating software and then charging less than non-pirates for the same work is a great example.
Someone pirating InDesign to do free flyers for their college is one thing. Pirating a bunch of copies for their company to publish books that they sell is very different.
No software company can make fine distinctions; they must fight piracy everywhere, all the time. Well, actually, that's not true… some companies do have different piracy rules for different groups: https://www.nytimes.com/2010/10…..ussia.html
David BlatnerKeymasterThese are all very good comments and ideas, but let's make sure we keep this discussion on philosophical ground, not aiming at each other. Everyone needs to make these decisions for themselves.
I want to be clear that I actually do believe piracy to be an evil and something that should be avoided when possible. More importantly, I believe that the important thing is to strive toward doing the right thing.
No one is perfect, but we all know that it's the right thing to pay for these tools. If you can pay, then pay. If you cannot pay, then either don't use the tools or use them with the knowledge that you have a debt to the tool makers.
David BlatnerKeymasterIt is usually a matter of opening Preferences and setting Live Screen Drawing (in the Interface pane) to Delayed.
David BlatnerKeymasterYes, I have heard of Illustrator sometimes adding a little bit of space around the bounding box… like they round to the nearest one point or something? I cannot remember. How much space is it adding?
David BlatnerKeymasterWhy not open the original image, crop and retouch, then save as PSD, and bring the PSD into InDesign? Then later, if you need a different size, you can resize it in Photoshop and either save, or save as a new PSD (if you need the original), and bring the PSD into InDesign. Is it necessary to save as JPEG at all?
