David BlatnerKeymasterIt's a great question. At recent events I've been at, it's something like 60% CS5 users, 30% CS4, and 10% CS3 and earlier. But it's very hard to quantify, and of course it's somewhat biased (because people who keep up with the software are also the ones who often want to keep up with the new technologies and want to keep learning, etc.)
David BlatnerKeymasterI honestly don't know, but I wonder if they're .pict files. You might try opening them in Photoshop…?
David BlatnerKeymasterIf the page numbers are on a master page, you can select the text frames by Command-Shift-clicking (or Ctrl-Shift-click on Windows). Then you can delete them. Yes?

David BlatnerKeymasterI don't know… that sounds strange. Is it only on screen, or in print, too? Only in Acrobat? Or only in print (perhaps you are just seeing the halftone dots blur)?
David BlatnerKeymasterIf you're in CS5, remember you need to export as PDF (Interactive) not PDF (Print). The rollovers should work.
Yes, once you take the time to make a button, putting it in a library (or making a snippet from it) is a very good idea, so you can reuse and recycle later.
David BlatnerKeymasterAre you dragging the button with the Direct Selection (white arrow) tool instead of the Selection tool?
I agree that button styles would be really helpful.
David BlatnerKeymasterAre you talking about how they look in InDesign? Or how they look in Acrobat's Reflow mode?
When you say “no leading” do you mean each line sits on top of each other? Or just very tight?
On the accessibility issues, we have several pages you might look at, including:

Also, this movie may be helpful to some people:

Note that these have not yet been updated for CS5.5… and 5.5 makes accessible PDFs much easier to make! Anyone who needs to make accessible PDF files should look into upgrading.
David BlatnerKeymasterThis has been a problem for users for many years. So frustrating! So I finally found a way to do it by getting DTP Tools to write a plug-in to enable ANY shortcut for ANY styles, and they put it in Blatner Tools (blatnertools.com).
David BlatnerKeymasterYou're using a newer version than me, I think. I better get an update and see whassup with some of those cool new features! :)
I did a video on how to use it here:

I would suggest trying to turn off a lot of the various options (checkmarks) and keep running it. Try it on a single month. Does that work? Try running it with no documents open.
David BlatnerKeymasterI love it and it works great for me. Can you explain better what's not working for you?

David BlatnerKeymasterDo you really need to do this as an ipad app? Why not just make a PDF with different pages?
Another option would be to use an MSO (multi-state object).
David BlatnerKeymasterCurious. Overprint preview should be turned off. Preview mode should be turned off… oh, and Type > Show Hidden Characters needs to be turned ON! Does that help?
David BlatnerKeymasterI can see it in my copy of CS5 on the Mac. See here:

David BlatnerKeymasterGreat idea for an obscure feature, Tim!
