David BlatnerKeymasterI haven't looked at that in a while, but I believe the trick is to use a special kind of hyperlink… you need to look at the docs to find the hyperlink codes.
David BlatnerKeymasterI'm not sure, but perhaps you can affect this by applying the effect to just the fill or stroke of the frame (instead of the whole object). It's not always obvious, but the Effects panel lets you apply different fx to different parts of the object. (Drag that little fx icon up or down.)
David BlatnerKeymasterBlatner Tools and its little brother Power Styles have this feature. (Perhaps more robust than some of the scripts out there.) Check it out at https://www.dtptools.com
David BlatnerKeymasterI don't know any great ways to split up a file. I usually just do a Save As, then delete a bunch of pages, then go back to the original and save as, then delete other pages, and so on. Tedious, at best.
David BlatnerKeymasterYou create a frame, then select it frame with the Selection tool (black arrow), then choose File > Place, select an image, and click OK, and the image should appear in there. Or, if you have nothing selected on the page, Place should load the place cursor, and then you can click, or click-and-drag.
I'm concerned about your comment about the pages panel only showing “A”. That is a master page, not a document page. You want to make sure you're on Page 1, the document page.
I would strongly suggest checking out some of the books or videos available to get up to speed with InDesign. For example, we have a one-week free trial offer at lynda.com, listed here:
David BlatnerKeymasterHi Amy, yes, they made quite a few changes in 5.5… the HTML and EPUB code was pretty much entirely rewritten from scratch, I believe.
I'm not sure why they made this particular change, but I like your idea of using the TOC to help pre-populate the Export Tagging feature.
BTW, I'm going to move this topic to the regular InDesign forum. The Pub is usually used for non-InDesign-specific stuff, like design and other informal items.

David BlatnerKeymasterThis isn't exactly the same, but check out the tomaxxiResizeEach script:
David BlatnerKeymasterWhat does it mean that you locked it? Perhaps the idlk file is still there, after a crash?

But you should be able to open it. Perhaps you need to restart your computer or repair permissions or something like that?

David BlatnerKeymasterI agree with Bob. But you can anchor the image in the text story in InDesign, then set the Text Wrap to wrap around object, and (in CS5.5 at least), the float code is generated for you, and the text should wrap around the image in the epub. If you want a caption under the image, I suggest grouping the caption and the image, then anchoring the group in the flow (or adding it to the articles panel, if it's between stories).

David BlatnerKeymasterI believe SVG is supported in the current version of EPUB, but it's simply not supported in some epub viewers! More importantly, InDesign can't import/export svg.
Well, actually you can with a plug-in: https://creativepro.com/svg…..-epubs.php
I haven't used it in a while; if you try it, let us know how it goes.
I completely agree that ID's conversion of line art is pretty poor. True SVG support in the program would be awesome.

David BlatnerKeymasterInteresting, I didn't realize that! I will have to investigate, and will point this to Anne-Marie, too.
David BlatnerKeymasterLOL. This is certainly one of the most interesting threads in a while, Theun! Happy birthday to René!
David BlatnerKeymasterThis has been covered in a couple of places. One option is to use software such as:
https://www.premediasystems.com/pdfc.html
You could use InDesign itself, such as in this blog post:
indesignsecrets.com/document-differencing.php
You can also see comments in this forum thread:

David BlatnerKeymasterYes, I believe InDesign just uses the default font (Times or Minion Pro). When you are in Preview mode, the font is just wrong. When you are NOT in preview mode, you should see pink highlighting over all the text. (The color is controlled by the Composition Highlights in the Preferences dialog box.) The “dreaded pink” means the font is not available or the characters are not available in the font you have chosen.
David BlatnerKeymasterEither Galen was wrong, or you misread the text. InDesign does not simulate fonts with MM fonts. However, Acrobat does.
