David BlatnerKeymasterMarion: Try putting the logo on a layer, and move the layer to the top.
David BlatnerKeymasterDwayne, check the DTP Tools Cloud option… that’s the newer version that should work. You get all their tools (including my Blatner Tools plug-ins) as part of that.
David BlatnerKeymasterI believe InDesign is highlighting the edges of the font based on how the font designer specced them. That is, the top, left, right, and bottom edge of each character. You’ll find this can be very different in each font.
However, in general, you can (should) ignore the highlight. It’s the text itself that matters. :-)
David BlatnerKeymasterYou’ve run up against InDesign’s paragraph composer. It is very different than composers such as MS Word because it looks at the whole paragraph rather than just line by line. It wants to make the whole paragraph look its best. :-)
You can read more about it here:

David BlatnerKeymasterYou can see a few more links here: https://creativepro.com/topic/marking-up-pdfs
Kelly Vaughan has done a lot of work with Annotations. You can find her blog at https://documentgeek.blogspot.com
David BlatnerKeymasterSorry, I don’t know what you’re asking. Can you share what the problem is that you’re encountering? What are you having trouble with? What happens when you move the top of the frame down?
David BlatnerKeymasterYou should be able to make the frame smaller. You don’t have to keep the “selection highlight” inside the frame (it is okay if it sticks out the top).
But if the text pushes out it might be the First Baseline Offset I mentioned above. Or it could be something else. (But the first baseline offset is the most likely culprit.)
David BlatnerKeymasterFirst of all, I assume you know that you can’t print a 19-page magazine… it would have to be 20 pages… I guess your back cover is not on there.
But in terms of choosing pages like that, see one of these two articles:
https://creativepro.com/how-to-type-page-numbers-in-sectioned-documents.php
or
https://creativepro.com/tip-of-the-week-the-easy-way-to-print-a-page-range.php
David BlatnerKeymasterNo way to upload images directly, but you can upload to a file sharing site like imgur.com and then just copy and paste the imgur URL into here.
David BlatnerKeymasterIf you’re concerned primarily with the first line in the frame, you can adjust that… see:
https://creativepro.com/understanding-the-first-baseline-position-of-text.php
David BlatnerKeymasterAnother thing to consider: Do you have “Tagged Text” enabled when exporting? Many of the typical Acrobat export problems people have come from their text not being tagged.
David BlatnerKeymasterScott: I think I know the problem, but I want to be sure: NumberAdjuster will let you multiply by 0.5, but $49.99 would become $24.98… right? And you want it $24.99?
David BlatnerKeymasterWhen I look at the image that Ronald included in his original post, I think it would be impossible to do this with table color fill (because the shading must extend outside the table, and even outside the text frame).
The amazing thing about this thread is that I think there are people from 4 or 5 different countries, and at least 3 different languages! Of course, because it is in English, we must remember that sometimes meaning and intention is difficult to communicate.
But I very much appreciate the community trying to help in our various ways!
David BlatnerKeymasterThere is no doubt that a script could handle this, but you could also do it manually. For example, you could select the paragraph above the table, apply paragraph shading, and change the Bottom Offset of the paragraph shading so that it extends down under the table.
David BlatnerKeymasterYeah, I don’t think it’ll work… paragraph shading doesn’t appear to work on paragraphs with tables.
