Thanks to Dwayne. It really looks good now. I can edit chapter 3.

    Jongware,

Thanks, I did try that and there was an extra text box from the previous page. However it did not seem to be the problem. I did correct it though. Good Idea to check. I will remember that.

    Dwayne,

I think I would like you to take a look at the document. I don’t have a dropbox so I would like to email it. There are images to the document so would I also have to send the images file?

I am able to edit the text in the story editor. But I don’t have access to that page. I randomly checked and I can get the type tool to work on other pages.

    Thanks

This is all one document, which will be a book. It just has the main content right now. If I delete the last return, then the # moves up. The type tool / curser won’t move past it.

The port at the lower end of the page is not overset, and has a blue arrow in it. It looks as if it is linked properly.

If I go to page 17, the start to a new chapter, when I type T for the text tool the curser then jumps back to page 16 right
in front of the # sign. If I select page 18, I can get the type T tool to put the curser there. Is it possible to send a screen shot or something like that?

This is my first project with InDesign, so I could have done something somewhere. The good news is the author really likes the formatting but it also was so clear that he could see his content still needed editing.

    Thanks

Well it had 2 ports. It looks like I fixed that. However I still cannot get the curser / type tool to pick up on page 17. Starting with page 18, I am able to do this. so on page 18 I went into the story editor and page 17 was there and the rest of book appeared to be there.

I still think this has something to do with spinning off a PDF of pages 1 through 16. That’s when the end of story # appeared. Is there anyway to get rid of this?

I really thank you for your help. I will not create anymore PDF’s that are only a portion of the book.

Yes, but I can’t go past it. My author has changes he wants to incorporate and I have a table to insert later in the book.

How can I get past this? I have been looking everywhere, and yes it is a visible end of story tag, but it is at the
end of chapter 2 and I need to be able to get to the rest of the book.

what I mean is that when I select the type tool the curser will not go past that end of story marker. It will not put a curser anywhere and when I go into the story editor it only shows 2 chapters, up to page 16. There are 148 pages in the book. By the way, I took your course on Lynda.com. That’s how I was able to do this.

    Help!
    and Thanks,
