I had the same problem with a customer in Italy and we noticed that the same document on another Mac worked well, maybe you could try also to reset indesign’s preferences
Hi Matt,
I’ve already seen this problem.
Let’s try to save to IDML and reopen the original document before copy and paste.
Not a Genius, only an ACI with long experience…
This could do the magic if I understood well:
CA$
meaning:
= word boundary
CA = literal CA
$ = end of paragraph
Let’s try it
Hi Susan, you can find the pathfinder panel (similar to the Ai one) in the Window menu, under Objects and Layout submenu.
Hope this helps
Maybe Data Merge could help, here you are a good article on this:

Hi Gail, there’re a lot of different solutions for your problem, plug-ins, scripts, etc.
In this number of InDesign Magazine there’re lot of details:

Jackie, check out the option highlighted in this screenshot, that are the “align to baseline” options in the control panel when you select the text.
In the screenshot selected text is not aligned.

Hi Jakie, maybe the text is aligned to a baseline grid. It’s a setting of the paragraph.
The baseline could be set to the document or to the text frames.
Hope it helps
Hi Melise,
I think that the Frame Fitting Options are not active by default in the object style, did you turn to active the little checkbox corresponding to the Frame Fitting Options?
Thank you for your answers.
It happens with CC2017 and CC2018, I didn’t try with other versions.
Thank you Kai for the suggestions.
I’ll post the problem in the Adobe’s forum.
Hi Sabrina, I suppose you are writing from Italy.
Data Merge could help you, here you are a tutorial in italian:
Thank you David!
