ParticipantI ended up changing my text manually but will take a look at this script and your questions and suggestions when I get through this deadline. Thank you for all your thoughtful time.

ParticipantI agree David and I said that to my client — they should be doing the imposition. But they are a non-profit with an in-house digital printer that they use to print smaller runs (this is a 16 page book, 100 copies). I suspect their printer has imposition software but they haven’t learned to use it yet.
In my stress to get them this quickly today, I forgot that I could make the imposition in Acrobat. Thank you for next time!
I ended up exporting the original doc to pdf as separate pages (yay for the new feature!) and placing each page in printer spreads in a new Indesign document to create a high res pdf. In hindsight, I wish I had instead placed the original linked Indesign pages inside a new Indesign doc so that if there are alts to the original, it will update in the printers spread doc too.

ParticipantDavid to the rescue! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I unclicked that feature and I am back to seeing my image cropping as I wanted.

ParticipantDTP website says Blatner Tools is only compatible up to CS6. When I try to run the installer, it says it can’t find Adobe Indesign. After I restarted Indesign CC, it appears the tools installed but the free (?) Script Manager menu of “Extra/Manage this menu” doesn’t display any scripts.
Maybe I am confused about how the DTP Cloud works but I do know that I don’t want to pay a subscription cost. The menu bar icon doesn’t show Blatner Tools as an option.

ParticipantGot it :)
I forgot to change that first line. Thanks for making me think.
Cindy Kelley
ParticipantI did. I replaced
allParaStyles
withallCharStyles
and
allCharacterStyles
yet no go.
I even opened another script using Character styles and it showed “allCharacterStyles” so I thought that would work but nope.
But don’t tell me the fix yet. I am going to google and keep trying. :)
Cindy Kelley
Participantat the sake of being greedy, how about for Character Styles as well? ;)
Cindy Kelley
ParticipantOMG! You have saved me so much time.

ParticipantHi there,
Yes, I do have a paragraph style of “scholarship winner”.
This script still doesn’t work. It appears to do nothing so I don’t get an error code of any sort.
Thank you for taking your time to look at this Ari. :)

ParticipantThanks A. A. Ron. (love that!)
I figured as much but thought I’d ask.
Cindy Kelley
ParticipantThanks Dave.
I set up a find/change and a character style using Tabular Lining. When I create my paragraph styles using Klinic Slab, I will use a grep style to be safe.
Thanks for your help.

ParticipantThanks everyone. I ended up making three find/change queries. Since I use the awesome Multi Find/Change app, it’s a one-click solution. Although it would be nice to have a script. My saved Find/Change list is getting a big long. :)
Cindy Kelley
ParticipantThanks Loic!
That worked with dollar amounts with 7 digits but I also need it for numbers as small as just 4 digits, i.e. $1,234 or $12,345. Is that possible?
Cindy Kelley
ParticipantOf course I am not at all surprised that you came to my rescue Jongware!!!
You have save me so much time once again with your tips and/or scripts.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
