    Hi David
Just to follow on from above, another question? Are you aware of a way to paginate say 128 pages in a document, then stop the pagination, open a new document then paginate another 128 pages and so on until the source file is exhausted? In very large document we are trying to get around the 9999 pages in an indesign document by making up smaller documents then using the Book functionality to assemble the final book. But I am not sure how one stops the pagination process after a specific number of pages and then continue into a new document all within process. Yes we do have good InDesign Server scripting knowledge available.

    Thanks David
The reason for creating a book is that there are many elements that are created from a single XML file that then need to be assembled, a TOC created, covers, dividers, then we need to make sure that there are booklets created for “printers” sections, 128 page booklets, each with a cover and back page. So we decided that using the Book model would be best. A single Indesign layout is not possible as you can imagine.
But we are not aware of the “Server and Scripts” that you refer to, we are good in InDesign desktop only, do you have a suggestion as to where we can familiarise ourselves with these, as there may greatly improve the performance of the process as well, as creating a book to this sort of size, using out method, takes up to 5 hours running on IDS.

    regards
