ParticipantThat's tiny and nothing to worry about. To get the file size as small as it's going to get use the file>save as command and save it over itself.
And I hope you mean you're placing those images. Pasting images into InDesign is not a very good worklfow and will likely result in very poor output.

ParticipantUse the direct select tool to select the image in the first document and then use the selection tool to select the frame in the new document. Choose edit>paste into.
Optionally, you might want to right click that frame first and choose your fitting options before pasting the image in.

ParticipantAnother quick fix if you're experiencing this issue is create a new book and bring your InDesign document into it. Export the PDF from the book panel which doesn't work in the background.

ParticipantJust a quick note on PDF from Photoshop. If you save it with a PDP extension, the operating system will recognize it as a Photoshop PDF. Makes a double click to open it or edit original from InDesign a bit easier.

ParticipantWhat are your PDF export settings?

ParticipantDid you use a master text frame?
Did you simply autoflow some text?
Did the text actually conform to the old margins?
Yeah, I know, those are questions, not answers but the answers to your questions will help.

ParticipantDefinitely something weird going on there. I tried to export one page of a multipage document and the PDF preview is showing the entire document.

ParticipantThat theory's as good as any other, but I can't find any way for it not to work on either Win or Mac (with the application frame).

ParticipantFor anyone on a Mac reading this, this feature only works if you have the application frame active.
But it works just fine for me in CS4 and CS5
