ParticipantI think I may have solved the mystery. It is underlined spaces with a base line shift to put it in the position of a dash. Creative thinking, but more work than the keyboard shortcut for the m or n dash.

Great! Thanks for filling in the specifics.

ParticipantI would agree that it is best to leave Word behind. I think once you have used InDesign for a while you will never look back. Also the story editor (command + y) is great for giving you an uncluttered space (almost word processor feel) to do your editing.

ParticipantNot sure the exact issue, but to give you a starting point. It sounds like your swatches are being converted to RGB and then back to CMYK at some point. It will not usually make a radical difference like you are seeing, but it could be that it is being converted to something more radical than RGB. The most likely culperate is that it is one of the many crazy issues that develop from corrupt preferences.
To reset you preferences see: https://creativepro.com/rebuilding-indesign-preferences.php
It looks like Steven was having a similar issue: https://creativepro.com/reb…..ment-11655

ParticipantYou might try your printer dialog (under print then printer). Some printers allow you to shift where it prints on the page by a prescribed increment.

ParticipantAnother, but not great, possibility is to click on the frame with the text on a path and use the period character offset for the dots or use the underline or strike through with an offset and then give it the dotted stroke.
December 18, 2011 at 10:46 pm in reply to: Is there a way to change document window size permanently? #61278atwfg828
ParticipantThis is not working for me. Is it not a CS4 feature or am I doing something wrong? I would love for it to work. I like everyone else get annoyed having to grab the window and downsize it everytime. I always leave a gap, so the panels never pop out over my pasteboard. Is that at all possible?
