ParticipantProblem solved.
Align to grid was turned on.
For what its worth, I finally figured it out by looking at my paragraph styles and seeing that it said [Basic Paragraph]+ so saved it as a style, then looked at the summary to see what attributes it had applied to it… when I saw “Alignment: Baseline” I knew that was probably the root of the problem. Good way to troubleshoot if you don’t already do it this way.

ParticipantThank you for answering my question David.

ParticipantSeems like it wont export using any effect that darkens the outer edges. I’ve tried satin and a black inner glow set to multiply and it gives me the same results.

ParticipantThe “wow that’s bad” is all I needed to hear!! That let me know there was a real problem with my document & not just something I fat fingered. Thank you so much.

ParticipantThat fixed it! Thank you so much.
January 8, 2013 at 10:25 am in reply to: How do you assign numbers to images within Adobe InDesign? #63895allenye818
ParticipantIve made several catalogs in indesign. I was lucky because for the most part, the images provided by the manufacturer were already named by their part number. Some of the images needed to be photoshopped to have their background removed, this was an ideal time to change the file name if necessary when resaving the file as a .png. The bridge idea will work, from my understanding of bridge, I don't think it will save a ton of time vs changing the file name individually… I could be wrong though. I think changing the file names is probably your best bet. Try googling for a file renaming application that will automate some of the process for you.

ParticipantHey thank you for replying. So before I could even try to solve any font issues, Indesign has now stopped exporting. Everything I try to export runs for a few seconds and then fails. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the software which didn't help & I've done a system restore which also didn't help. Can you recommend any next steps to try?

ParticipantI've also tried opening a new document & placing the old one inside, which also doesn't work.
