They are all the same exact of file with one difference, a unique company name. It’s a personalized copyright…. “This file is for <<Company Nam>> Use Only.” To make it an easier process on me, I just made a .csv sheet with all the names, used data merge to create all the individual copyrights, and am place & linking them to individualize a manual going out to all of them. I have done the best I can with automating the process. File naming individual files to place is a pain….when there’s 60 plus individual companies.
Thanks guys! Super helpful for next time! Unfortunately, they asked for the customization after the creation of the document…no wonder…something so simple shouldn’t be so complicated….but apparently it is. I decided to just place and link to an outside indesign document on every master page, set the object frame options to fit content proportionally (since it’s not always the same amount of characters)…not perfectly the same size text for each name, but it works for what I needed to do. Helpful info for next time!
I really like keyboard shortcuts. I have a magic mouse, and double-clicking is super annoying when dealing with text frames.
It worked! Well, here is what I’m looking for, now.
I changed (b|B)est (c|C)hoice words to Best Choice® ….
where is the option to format JUST the “®” to a superscript character style? I could go back and search for just “®” and replace it, but maybe I could do it all in one find/change query? Like say, hey find this set of words together, but now change the “@” to a superscript.
I’m still really new to this grep thing…but man, it’s awesome for long form!
Sorry this took me so long to reply, it’s been awhile. It would just be to place the cursor at the beginning of the text frame. Seems like there should be a shortcut for that…But maybe someone can script that!
Thank you! I’ll give it a try!
