ParticipantOutlining fonts is somewhat archaic, but if your printer insists on it, you might try using a transparency flattener workflow instead. Otherwise, you may actually lose things you need, like paragraph rules or bullets. You'll have to put a transparent object on the page somewhere to force it to flatten, but you can put it in a margin where it won't be seen. Check out this post (and read all the comments) for a better explanation than I can give: https://creativepro.com/con…..ht-way.php

ParticipantI use End Nested Style Here a lot for my church newsletter's events page, where either the time or the first 2-3 words are bolded, so I made Shift+Ctrl+F1 so I could control how many words get the boldness. (Thanks to David and Ann-Marie for turning me on to custom keyboard shortcut sets, which they covered way back on Podcast #003.)

ParticipantI'm not surprised that multiple solutions to my problem exist. Thank you for the sugggestions!
@Jesserenko Yes, GREP would certainly do what I want, especially if I can figure out how to keep double returns from being replaced so I won't lose the true paragraph return. A quick search has returned a few freeware text editors. I'll try them out on Monday when I'm back at my PC at work.
@Adamjury Yes, I do have the full version of Acrobat that came in CS2. Saving it as RTF might be overkill, since I'm only copying a 1-page article in an 8-page newsletter
@Jools I can't believe I didn't search the topic here; I usually do that before I ever post questions on forums. I have never used that accessability feature, and will give that a try as well.
@David I am anxious to try PDF2ID and will probably get it when I upgrade, which should be soon.

ParticipantI'm curious about Mike's Myth #1. Aside from the digital copiers, which seem to handle 200ppi images just fine, when is it okay to go under 300Pppi for conventional printing? I guess I missed that Mythbuster.

ParticipantI also came from a print production background. I went from being a counter girl in a copy shop to doing paste-up, shooting PMT's (remember those?), veloxes, and negs….graduated to stripping/platemaking, then ran a shop for a while. Learned how to run AB Dick 360 press (more modern than a Multi), cutter, folder, padding press.
You mentioned the trick of putting a different color of ink on each end of the ink fountain? We used to do graduated color that way. Of course, it was unpredictable, inconsistent, and really just an oddity. Psychedelic!
Now I broker all my printing so I don't ruin my manicure any more! (No more ink stains or getting high on blanket wash fumes!) I'm still on CS2 because we're struggling here but I won't get into that, except to say that everyone now wants “the paperless office,” which means the business form company I work for is in the pits right now!
Oh dear, no one said there would math involved! Good thing I have a calculator!
