Thanks. But I have to have that turned OFF so that I can start my document with a double page spread which is necessary when compiling a large book out of separate ID files. It also offers protection in case you accidentally add a single or odd number of pages which can cause all your left-hand pages to suddenly become right-hand pages and make a right mess of the document.

Just seems a bit of a crazy setting to not allow me to keep my fixed spreads together, which is essential when designing a book with complex page layout design, but then won’t let me add more pages without making the assumption that I want them to be these bizarre foldout extra pages on the same spread. Does anyone actually want that?

Thanks but I will press on with the work-around which I might add is made very hard by the fact that you have to be incredibly accurate when you drag and drop your added spreads otherwise it will jump to the spread on either side.

Just tested this in CS2015 and it is still a ‘feature’ in that.
