P.S. the document will not save unless I use the save as feature and spend time searching through my files to where that file resides then I save it and it asks me if I wish to replace teh old file.
Yikes! Well after continuing to work on the problem, I realized that the printing preferences were set on page scaling to “Shrink to printable area.” I changed it to “none” and everything works fine.
Well at least now I have a good resource in the form of this site for how to export my children's books to Kindle.
I imagine that this is a simple problem that has happened to others, but it seems that the basic problem is that the indesign document when printed out and the PDf when printed out do not match each other as evidenced by overlaying them and seeing the difference.
Exporting the document as a PDF makes the images and text appear in a different layout.
How do I retain the integrity and positioning of the original document in PDF format?
Thanks,
