I was copying and pasting into the find/change dialog, I forgot about the @ menu, thanks!!
Seriously this is impossible?
Oh sorry, gotcha.
What if you assign it a master page with no auto numbering on it?
All of this I've done a thousand times but I had always started from #1 so my question was how to start from a different number.
The info for how to create numbered tickets is here: https://creativepro.com/making-numbered-tickets.php
Then here's what I found
When you set up the numbering in Paragraph>Bullets & Numbering, choose Mode > Start Numbering At (ie. 1150)
Then my problem was when I duplicated the text box, it was still beginning at 1150 so….
Back to the document you'll see your text box with the first number in it, duplicate it (they'll both have the same number it them ie. 1150) Back to Paragraph>Bullets & Numbering>Mode, set the mode back to continue from previous number.
Bazinga.
@Rydesign That's sort of a cool way to do it but I needed to be able to print the certs 3 up on 8.5 x 11
Doh! Got it! Start at.
Now my question is, I have the numbering text boxes linked on the first page beginning at 1150. So the first page contains 3 certs numbered 1150, 1151, 1152. How do I get the numbering to carry 1153 to page 2?
If I create a new page or copy and paste the third certificate I begin at 1150 again.
Thank you!
Got it! Too many pages in the document, when I merge it will make as many pages as I have records.
