ParticipantExport PDF: embed the font(s) and using PDF standard PDF/X-1a (or PDF/X-3 for remaining transparency). You should never(!) want to outline text!
Edit: regarding the spot color: really don't know at this point. As Bob said, we need more info.

ParticipantNope. You have to setup the placeholders on all the different templates. Some plugins will likely help you with this kind of stuff. However, I don't know any of them.

ParticipantCould be an optical issue. Colors, as well shades of grey, turns to be optical slightly different then they truly are.
If that ain't the case; are you using a (lightning) blend mode, such as screen etc.? Also ensure that you use the right color profiles within your image or otherwise at your soft-proof dialog.

ParticipantWatch your output settings with pdf exporting. Double check that your resolution won't get downsampled to much.
