I'm willing to be its simply a matter of the software not being integrated fully for the device. You could try exporting using a different program as listed above, or simply wait for a hot fix which I'm sure is on the way if this is a common occurrence.

I'd also been looking for this solution. Thanks! I am assuming this works for CS6 as well?

This is a really good point. Many people don't realize that CS5 and CS6 files are different. It's possible to covert them but you will definitely see error messages regarding plugins.

File integrity is one of the most common causes for errors.

That's a nifty article. I've been wondering about this myself. Now if I could just figure out how to replace only certain instances of capitalization I'd be all set.

Yes, I'm experiencing a few of the same bugs myself, it may have to do with the integrity of your files. You may want to try reinstalling or removing any third party plugins. If this doesn't work all you can really do is wait. The version is new and will take awhile to work perfectly.

You should be able to change these values. If you are unable to, you may have to change turn on the 'constrain proportions' option. It's the little chain at the top left of the document. Hope this helps.

I would agree with Johnny. Sometimes the easiest solution is the best one. The styles themselves are not too complicated, it's just a matter of keeping all of the elements in order.

Perhaps some of these fonts are not recognized by the receiving program, hence the usual suspects translating and the others not. I'll bet by now the system has been updated to accept a wider variety of fonts, but if not you may need to search for third party plugins.

I think you might have to go page by page only because the replace all option will do exactly that. Are your captions a static element in your PDF? Because if they are they probably won't get changed.

It should work on Mac, which version of InDesign do you have? Perhaps they are using a different version with different features?

No prob! Publishing online is so much cooler than traditional magazines and the possibility for interacting with readers is what's really important. I would also cover some social marketing and sharing aspects as the information age allows us to connect like never before.

Also a fan of some of the InDesign plugins as they are a lot easier to integrate with the system. CS6 has a good framework and a lot of companies are able to produce barcode plug-ins that work perfectly.

Really? Ugh I also know there's a way to do this but it may take a bit more research.

There is not exceedingly clever way to do this, but it is possible. Simply go to your main PDF page and use the Document > Replace Pages command. It's kind of like layers but they are hidden behind the main page. it's a little difficult to explain, but there is no static option, just a way to replace elements on the subsequent pages.

InDesign is great for publishing to mobile devices as well as the Internet, I would cover the ability to print to tablets and the importance of layout and design. I think you are on the right track.

I would also cover the interactive elements of InDesign as there are a few different ways in which to offer more than just a readable document.
