MemberThat's why, once I had the panels I use regularly all set up the way I want, I saved the workspace as “default”. I do that for all Adobe programs that have workspaces. Creating a back-up might be a good idea too :)
Roland
MemberOkay, just pick up the entire group of panels and move it off the right-side of the screen. Once your cursor hits the right location, a vertical blue bar appears and you can let go to re-dock the panels on the side.
Alternatively you could try going to Window > Workspace > Reset X where X is the name of the current workspace.

MemberThe only times I convert source images to CMYK are
– when I have to send “open files” (AI, INDD including all links & fonts) to clients/printers for offset printing
– when I need to supply images to 3rd parties for advertising purposesThe only CMYK files I place into InDesign are Illustrator and InDesign files. Everything that comes out of Photoshop is kept in RGB.

MemberI haven't had any problems with the panels or document windows. Just look for the blue bars (vertical or horizontal, depending on whether you're creating a new dock-column or adding to one) when you try to dock panels.
Perhaps the document sorting icon (top-most bar of the application, next to the Bridge icon) can be of help fixing your problem with full-screen documents?

MemberMaybe there's a user forum on their site that you can ask your questions on, or you could try their support or sales contacts. Considering the prices they put on their software they'd better have decent manuals and support.
Roland
MemberI'm not going insane! Hooray! :)
Now to get Adobe to find a fix.

MemberAs far as I know there's no automated way to do that, even in CS5 you'll most likely do it manually using Smart Guides or… You could copy the height of the original frame and then, after setting the second frame's anchor to the top, paste the height value and hit Enter (Return on Mac).
Aligning both frames isn't really necessary if you use the second method. If you want to manually resize the second frame (a.k.a. by dragging) aligning is necessary.
If you need visual aids, let me know and I'll look something up.

MemberI'm bumping this to see if anyone has more info on this.
Seeing how I did a complete re-install of my system after making the original post and it's still doing this, I can't believe I'm the only one who has noticed the number of preview pages a PDF has in Bridge is off if the PDF was exported from InDesign.
My 208-page catalog's INDD file has a preview for each page (I set up InDesign to include a preview for all pages, rather only the first 10), exporting any number of pages from that file to a PDF results in a correctly working PDF that has 208 page previews when viewed from inside Bridge. Heck, even the PDF containing only the contents page has 208 previews! It does that with every PDF I export from InDesign and while it doesn't break anything, it's annoying as heck when Bridge says a PDF contains Y pages when in reality there are only X pages in there.
Has nobody else found this problem?
Oh, and yes, I did report this as a bug to Adobe, but naturally haven't heard anything.Roland

MemberI never make graphs or charts myself, but one of my clients supplies me PowerPoint files full of them, which I then print as-is. Naturally I can't send or post any of it, but as they're not too concerned with a continuous look & feel across their various printed materials, I doubt they'd be of much help.
The only advice I can give is to first get the document's general look & feel done, then create matching graphs, either within Excel or Illustrator (according to Adobe, it has very good graph options).

MemberVasha, you're right. It doesn't work when clicking underneath docked panels. You can only get the Open dialog by double clicking on the application window, as you had already found out.
I misread your post and as a result didn't quite get that's what you were trying to do. Sorry to get your hopes up :(
