Allows editing of just text. Inexpensive. (Although I haven't yet gotten it to work properly myself…)
Not the best promotion I've seen ;)
Semi off-topic: I understand why companies like selling 12-month subscriptions to expensive services, but like Olaf, I too would like to see more short-term licenses offered. This type of software and Adobe's own Adobe Live service would be far better for small businesses if they could pay to use the software for a month at a time, only spending money on it when they actually need it.
I don't make websites officially, but every now and then I'll do a simple one for a client to get them started. The Dreamweaver browser-checking Adobe Live service is great for that, but would I pay a couple hundred Euros (expected pricing) a year for maybe three days of use? The rest of the Adobe Live services are of no use to me… None of my clients will create yet another account to see their stuff online in an unfamiliar environment if I can send JPGs or PDFs that they can comment on (usually by printing them, writing on the print and then emailing a scan back).
And that's my Saturday-evening rant. I'm off to play some Halo Reach now :)

MemberI was able to borrow my brother-in-law's iPad today, and it seems the problem only comes when the PDF is reduced in file size in Acrobat Pro. I exported two PDFs using my offset-preset (PDF 1.3) one with image compression as Auto and one as JPEG and then reduced both, saving as new files.
The original exports both worked, but the reduced ones were image-less.
So now I just need to find a way to get good-looking PDFs out of InDesign that no longer need to be reduced in file size so they can be used on the web & iPads.

MemberI sent him 2 PDF files; a PDF 1.4 (Acrobat 5) and a reduced version saved as Acrobat 9. If both won't work for him I'll try exporting with the image compression setting changed to JPEG.
Reducing the file size inside Acrobat Pro won't change the images' internal file types, right? I'd rather not send 30MB files too often.

MemberYou really need to learn how to spam properly… you didn't even include a link.
Roland
MemberYou can upload your picture to a free image hosting site or your own website and paste the URL to the image itself using the “Insert/edit image” button (it looks like a tree) when you post a reply.

MemberHave you always used the logo in white though? It's quite common for a logo in black to be set to overprint, and then when the color's changed the overprint setting gets forgotten.

MemberIf you create a Paragraph style that contains the bullets, you can assign a character style to the bullets themselves. Setting the character style to only change the font size, you can adjust the bullets' size “on the fly”, as well as their baseline shift, if you need to alter that.
I don't have access to an image uploading service right now, but if you need screenshots I can add them later.

MemberThanks guys :)
Luckily the phone numbers were all the same formatting. I had to change them because they weren't formatted as the original designer had “envisioned” them. Huge egos but apparently no idea how to set up color profiles (US SWOP and sRGB for print work in the Netherlands? Really?) or how to use layers in Illustrator and InDesign… Man I love these “professionals”.
“– and you'd better hope all of them start with the same “31 6″ prefix, because InDesign's GREP stops counting at $9!”
I guess we're lucky our phone numbers only have 10 digits then :)September 15, 2010 at 11:31 pm in reply to: Illustrator shapes wont paste in ID CS5 as vectors… #57023Roland
MemberI copy & paste logo's and simple vector shapes from Illustrator CS5 into InDesign CS5 quite a lot, and have yet to have a problem with it. I assume you've troubleshooted this by copying both simple shapes (rectangles, circles) and more complex shapes (grouped shapes, text) from Illustrator into InDesign?

MemberI need to get a forum of my own to post questions in… every time I do that, I find the answer right afterwards:
Find:
(b6)(d+) (d+) (d+) (d+)Replace with:
$1 $2$3 $4$5Sorry for all the edits, but the slashes kept disappearing …

MemberIs this pixilating worse than in previous versions of InDesign?
Have you, perhaps accidentally, changed the graphics qualities in the preferences so even high quality previews look low quality?Perhaps if no obvious solution works, you could upload a screenshot of the pixilation problem along with the image you placed so someone can try to replicate the problem?
Roland
MemberSweet, that did the trick.

MemberI have the “custom superscripted” numbers, have had that pretty much since GREP styles were added to InDesign, but getting them above the comma is what I can't get. I'm looking for a setup like they use in the folders for Makro. An example can be found here: https://www.metro-mcc.nl/conten…..nu_No=1304
Roland
MemberHave you tried rebuilding the preferences? I can't think of anything else unless there are software differences (like plug-ins) on the offending installations that aren't on the other computers.
Roland
MemberI never even knew you could do that, or the Shift-drag option to restrain the table's dimensions. Now to find a reason to use the 'shortcuts' a half dozen times over the next few days so I won't forget them again.
