      Hi Guys,

I have long table with 200 cells that flows over about 90 pages..

I didn't find any option in InDesign to split the cells over the pages. I.e. InDesign forces to put the whole cell in the page, and if the cell has no space in the frame it would jump to the next page… In my case this makes the pages look empty at the end, because the cells have large content…

My question is if there is a way to make the table in InDesign looks like in Microsoft Word. I.e. in Word the cells would divide automatically through the pages and the content will be divided as well…

I searched so much for that option put with no lock…

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

      Sorry, no.

(You can “fake” it by making extra cells, but it is a big hassle.)

      Thank you very much David!!

I see that it is not possible..

I have other issue if you may please..

The same table has 3 columns.. Is there any option to choose the whole table and merge the 3 cells of every row, so that the table would have the same number of rows with only one column?

      Best Regards,

      Bahgat,

I don’t work with tables all that much in InDesign but, for what it’s worth, how about selecting the whole table, converting it to text and then immediately converting the text back to a single-celled table?

I haven’t tried it so am not sure how much it would mess up the order of the contents of the table.

      Thanks Furry,

I did it like that but it will put every cell in whole row…

I did it similar way by converting the table to text choosing the column separator as Tab and the row separator as Paragraph, then converting it back to a table, then using the GREP to change every tab to Forced line break…

Thank you again for the hint!
