Hello. My Mac (running OS X 10.8.5) has both InDesign CC 2014 and InDesign CC loaded on it, because several coworkers are using various versions for various projects and I have to have access to all of these documents. I would like to set InDesign CC as the default app, not InDesign CC 2014. I have gone to the “Get Info” option in Finder, changed the app to InDesign CC, clicked “Change all,” made sure the little lock at the bottom right was unlocked, and then clicked OK. The selection of InDesign CC doesn’t “stick.” The default app reverts right back to InDesign CC 2014.

Is this a known issue? Is there something I can do about it? I hesitate to uninstall InDesign CC 2014 because I now have some documents saved in it and some in InDesign CC. Until we all get upgraded to the same version, this will be the case. I’d like to be able to use the version I want to use.

      Thanks for the help!

It seems to work at my end but only within the same folder, it does not affect the entire drive for some reason. My solution is to simply make sure that version 6 is launched every morning so that all files with launch with it when I click them, unless they were save with 2014, then I launch 2014 to use them. I have to do this cause my main client insist on using CS6.

But un-installing the application seems a bit drastic, you could if you want to simply compress the 2014 version app on your drive and that would stop it from launching, this way if you need it it’s just a simple decompress away.
