I have a photoshop file (RGB/8) that has graphics and text and I want to recreate it in InDesign. When I imported the photoshop file into InDesign I noticed the colors looked different between InDesign and Photoshop. So I went to photoshop and looked at the RBG color and it was 0,0,205. When I tried to use the same color in InDesign it changed to 57,83,164. It’s like I can’t use that RGB so it has to find the closest. But it’s not close at all! So I decided to test if it was only while viewing and working with the files and maybe exporting the files will match, but no luck! I exported two JPGs one from Photoshop and another one from InDesign (using the same photoshop file) and the colors were way different.
To keep in mind:
* I’m Using CC
* My Applications are synchronized using “North America General Purpose 2” Color Profile
* It only happens with InDesign. Photoshop and Illustrator match the color.
* The exported JPG from InDesign was exported with RGB color Profile (same as photoshop file), and both JPGs are about the same size 14.5mb in ID and 15mb from Photoshop.
* When I create a new InDesign file I’m using Intent: Print.
My thoughts:
I think InDesign is using CMYK color profile for viewing and print and not RGB, That’s why I see the colors washed out. The only place I have found to change some settings is under Edit > Color Setting. But no luck.
