Hi, apologies for the noob question, but I am trying to add a font to inDesign which appears to not be available in TypeKit. I have downloaded the font files and am wondering how to make use of them. Any help greatly appreciated!

How do you currently manage your fonts?

Are you on a Mac or Windows?

Hey Dwayne! I am a Windows user and have not delved into managing fonts yet. I have only used the provided suite of fonts.

Basically it’s Control Panels > Fonts > Add Fonts > point to where the new files are located . . . but that’s a Windows thing, not InDesign.

Hey, I never responded. I’ve been out of town and will try this fix. Thanks for the support!

If you use File->Package, that will create a Source folder with a copy of your .indd file, Document font folder and Links folder.

InDesign will look for fonts in that folder named (exactly) Document fonts. Often, closing and re-opening an .indd file will activate the fonts, but the key is it all being in one Source folder.
