Ah-hah! I had been deliberately turning off “Replace selected item” as my intuitive thought was that I had nothing selected and did not want my existing text frame to be replaced. How wrong I was! I just tried it out and it works like a charm.

Thank you, Jongware. I read all of your posts as you clearly understand ID better than most. I love this forum!
