Reply To: Problems with exporting text boxes

Put your “text that appears in distinct boxes” (I’ll call these “sidebars” from now on) into their own text frames. Give them a fill color of what you want and a width of what you want.

Then *anchor* these sidebar text frames into the main text stream. Set a wrap around them if you want, if you want the main body copy to flow to the left or right of the sidebars.

When you export from CS6, the sidebars will be intact. Live text. I would recommend you use CS6’s Object > Text Frame Options > Autosize to set the frame to increase its height automatically. The width will be the same as in your ID file.
