Reply To: Missing fonts when copying and pasting between documents

The more I read, the more of a mystery this is to me. The IDML trick certainly should have cleaned out any kind of weirdness that snuck in. And opening an IDML file is literally the same as re-creating the document by hand, as far as I know.

Is there, by any chance, a character style applied to the text as well? Or does the character style panel say the text has None?

As for going back… I guess my real suggestion isn’t that people shouldn’t edit Basic — it’s that people shouldn’t be using Basic. Just make your own styles.
