I’m well aware how the rulers work in Adobe Software. What I find odd is: when I upgraded from CS6 to CC, Illustrator suddenly handles rulers, line and type measure in millimeter. I can finally type, let say I want 4 mm leading, and then the vertical metrics is set to “4 mm” in Illustrator rather than 11.639 pt. This is a very important step in the right direction regarding visual size. Just to be able to use the same metrological system through out the entire document makes the software more pragmatic.

Now that I’m ”spoiled” with Illustrator I want all Adobe software to do the same, it would make it a lot easier for me, and every European user for that matter.

I tried the script you linked to and it looks good, the only problem I see is that it measures the face rather than the font dimension, some typefaces have overshooting serifs, Adobe Garamond for one.

Believe me, I love the point system, if I could decide I would want the Metric system to be duodecimal instead of decimal.
