I know that objects lock differently in CS5, but this situation – and your error Style Mapping – cut communication among versions.

Your solution is useful in ID CS5 only. But what about a file which created by ID CS3 and CS4 and want to edit it by CS5?

Yes, if Adobe don't solve this problem, then the solution is not upgrade.
