I'm trying to understand this, too… perhaps you mean the dotted lines that go around interactive objects when you click on them. That is the “focus” rectangle, and it cannot be turned off by you.

(Sandee Cohen discovered recently that you can turn it off on your own computer by deselecting “Show focus rectangle” in the Forms pane of the Acrobat Preferences dialog box. But you as the publisher of the PDF cannot turn on/off preferences one someone else's copy of Acrobat.)

I hate that focus rectangle in Acrobat; definitely makes the interactive PDF look unprofessional. Sigh.
