Acrobat Pro has (more or less) a RIP built into it, so if you have Acrobat Pro, it's easy to make pre-separated PDFs, where each plate is on its own page. See https://creativepro.com/create-color-separated-pdfs.php

You can turn on/off plates by clicking Ink Manager.
