Reply To: TOC style not showing up in epub export

Hi @Charlotte Sinclaire, Thank you for reaching out to me. I hope I can help you, as I’ve only ever created documents in single .indd files as well. :)

If I’m understanding your issue correctly, you inserted your manuscript into the .indd file, then added your TOC afterward, by inserting pages in between the flow of text.. If that’s correct, when you export, the TOC may actually be placed at the end of your book, instead of where you want it. I remember watching Lynda.com videos by Anne-Marie Concepcion and I learned that EPUBs export from left-to-right, meaning it will scan your page from the the left edge to the right edge and will export the content in that order. If any text frame of your manuscript appears before your TOC, it will export all of your manuscript first, then the TOC last. What you may have to do is insert a text anchor in your manuscript text frames where you want your TOC to appear, then re-export and see if that works.
