I think the trick is to change the amount of the optical margin alignment in the Story dialogue box (this appears to be the zone where the optical margin will affect) .

The default is 5pt, change this to 30 or 40pt ( the amount required will depend upon how far your text is offset from your bullets) and the text will optically align following the bullet points.
This sill also indent the bullet slightly from the left hand side of the text box.

This might not be a perfect fix but it should be a good starting point.
