Qamar,

Try setting the option you want with no document open:

Close all documents.
Click on Text tool.
Adjust colors for text (and stroke).

Then in your new document, this will become the default text color. I can’t see an easy way, however to make the background default to another color (black, for instance) without getting using object styles.
