Absolutely no reason to do this crazy workflow.

Professional printers will impose your document for you.

If you’re looking to get a Printed Sample in your own office use File>Export and choose PDF.

Using Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Reader there is the option to File>Print and choose the Booklet feature.

Don’t go off half-cocked and send the whole thing to print…

Print the first 8 pages – Check your print settings and ensure duplexing is on – so that it prints both sides – and there should be an option to Flip on Short edge – and you may need to play with these settings to get it right.
