Hi, Jeremy:

Really do not want to have to redo the formatting all over again.

It’s not a simple table.

In fact, I’m only using the tabular structure to align elements vertically and horizontally among columns of data.

The pasting recommendations I’ve seen specifically recommend selecting only one cell, hence my approach.
