Reply To: End of Section Footnote issue

I found a fix that worked for me about the issue with footnotes:

I’ve also noticed that in some places the footnotes run on immediately after the book’s text, while in most other places they start on their own new page at the end of a section in what is a much more attractive layout. Can anyone suggest why I am getting one behaviour sometimes, and another at other times?

I had the same issue and found a fix.

For me, I initially placed a page break immediately after the last word of the chapter. That was causing the footnote to page break into its own page in EPUB.

FIX: I hit enter to add a paragraph space after the last line of the chapter then placed a page break. This brought the footnote on the same page of the chapter instead of its own page when I exported the EPUB.

So with the “Show Hidden Characters” turned on would look something like:

“This is the end of chapter sentence”¶
(Paragraph space)¶
Page break

Hope this helps others figure this out!
