I think you are correct, and not correct. :-)

You are correct that applying the character style creates a strange name in the Font field, like “Times New Roman Bold”
That is very strange! I don’t know if it has always been that way, or if that is a new bug.

But when I try searching with Find/Change, I can find the font. I’m not sure what the problem there is for you. I suggest checking the Find/Change dialog box very closely; maybe there is some setting that is wrong?
