I tried to reproduce this behaviour without success. I made a new book in which I placed one document and exported via ‘Export Book to PDF …’ on the book palette submenu using the same preset I use for proofing single files. Could you describe in more detail the file and the book in which it is placed? Have you compared the two versions using Preflight in Acrobat?
